American alumroot's scapose, hairy, sticky flower stalk rises 18-36 in.
and surrounds tight upper third with loosely classified, minute, greenish, cup-shaped flowers. Graceful somewhat hairy stalk bearing yellowish-green, bell-shaped, drooping flowers in unfastened, slender, branching clusters; usually 4-5 flowers on each branch. Topping clump of attractive basal leaves springs from an underground block out.
The leaves are fuzzy, ellipsoidal, lobed and somewhat evergreen.
Several similar Heuchera species come to pass in the East, many topple which are difficult to discover from one another. The breed name honors the 18th-century Teutonic physician and botanist Johann von Heucher.
